European Versions - Dragon's Lair II was licensed to Atari for production and manufacturing in Europe.  The cabinet was very similar to the Leland release, but the hardware, including the laser disc player was totally different.  Atari sub-licensed Dragon's Lair II to Elettronolo for production and manufacturing in Italy.  Most of the hardware for the Elettronolo version was the same as the Atari version as well as the cabinet, itself.

Laser Disc Conversion - If your Sony LDP-1450 or LDP-3600D is on the fritz and you can't locate a new one, using this modified ROM, you can use any of the Sony LDP series players such as the LDP-1500, LDP-1550, LDP-2000, and others.  Check out Robert DiNapoli's Dragon's Lair II LD Conversion.

PC Conversion - All you need is a PC, a Sony LDP series player, a Dragon's Lair II laser disc and you're all set!  Play it on your computer or hook it up to work in your Dragon's Lair cabinet.  If you are already using a PC motherboard for the laser disc conversion in your Dragon's Lair, this would make a nice addition!  Check out Robert DiNapoli's Dragon's Lair II PC Conversion.

Code Hacking - To learn more about the Dragon's Lair II ROM structure, be sure to check out Hacking Around the Lair II, authored by Robert DiNapoli.

Interchangeable - Dragon's Lair II came with a conversion kit for Space Ace (91).  The kit included a Space Ace laser disc (91), control panel overlay, marquee, two 'fire' buttons, and one EPROM. (see Space Ace Tech Page)  Although the animation on this Space Ace (91) laser disc was the same as the original Space Ace version (83), they are not compatible with each other.  In other words, you cannot use an original Space Ace laser disc and EPROMs in a Dragon's Lair II nor can you use the Space Ace (91) disc and EPROM in an original Space Ace cabinet.
